It’s great to get the recognition! There are two, yes TWO, of the News2A contributors up for Gundie awards. The Gundies are the Grammys for Guns! It’s an award ceremony that was inspired by the TV show, The Office, when they had their Dundie awards. It’s a way for the gun community to get involved in an award program to celebrate the diversity, styles, and content that creators are putting out for everyone to enjoy.
Our two nominees have been around since News2A started and was just a thought over a few beers with the creators. Charlie Cook, from Riding Shotgun With Charlie, is nominated for Podcast of the Year. Yes, he’s really got a YouTube channel but he sends the audio out to the podcast world so people can bring his show in their “stagecoaches.” John Petrolino, aka The Pen Patriot, is up for Top 2A Writer. Petrolino has been knocking it out of the park here on News2A. But he supplements by sending articles to Bearing Arms, Ammoland, The Truth About Guns, and Shooting Weekly.
Of course, there are several big names in the gun community up for awards. But we’re hoping to get Cook and Petrolino into the winner’s circle without our own Dominion ballot counters. And without anyone muling boxes of ballots. So we’re counting on you to help.
Voting is from now until December 15. You can vote daily at The Gundies. You can click on links for sponsors and get extra votes. Almost like in Chicago. You do have to set up an account before you can vote. Then you’re able to vote everyday until December 15.
The awards ceremony is going to have a red carpet and lots of galas. It is going to be on Monday, January 20, 2025 at SHOT Show. This year, The Gundies are open to the public for a mere $60 ticket. So, if you’re in Las Vegas for SHOT Show, you’re able to attend.
We’d like to support some of the other folks that aren’t the big names that everyone knows. We’re hoping to get some votes for the proverbial little guys.
