On September 27, the Department of Defense, under the Biden-Harris administration issued an updated Directive allowing lethal force to be used on American civilians. You read that correctly.
As we’ll illustrate below, this underscores a trend of the U.S. government in general, and this administration in particular, increasingly viewing citizens who disagree with it or criticize it as enemies.

DOD DIRECTIVE 5240.01, issued under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, implements a number of executive orders (issued by the President of the United States), including one that authorizes the Secretary of Defense to approve:
Assistance in responding with assets with potential for lethality, or any situation in which it is reasonably foreseeable that providing the requested assistance may involve the use of force that is likely to result in lethal force, including death or serious bodily injury.
The “assistance” is provided in the following context as it relates to supporting local law enforcement:
When lives are in danger, rendering any other lawful assistance to law enforcement agencies or other civil authorities provided such assistance is consistent with, and has been approved by an official pursuant to Section 2 of this issuance.
The timing – just weeks before a national election – begs a lot of questions, including absent rationale for why government officials believe such a drastic and unprecedented policy change would be necessary.
This shouldn’t be surprising, although it is extremely worrying. While the federal government under the Biden-Harris administration has maintained its open border policy, with known terrorists crossing and being sometimes apprehended, the US government has increasingly turned its attention to “domestic terrorists” (read: anyone that disagrees with it).
A 2022 Department of Homeland Security report showed that under the direction of the disgraced Secretary Mayorkas:
cross-Departmental working group began a comprehensive review to identify how to best prevent, detect, and respond to potential threats related to domestic violent extremism…
The report asserts:
Domestic violent extremism poses one of the most significant terrorism-related threats to the United States.
To combat this “threat,” the Biden-Harris Administration created the first-ever National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism.
And they are throwing large amounts of money at this initiative. The report indicates they have spent $77 million on, “preventing, preparing for, protecting against, and responding to related threats nationwide” and another $180 million in funding, “to support target hardening and other physical security enhancements to non-profit organizations at high risk of terrorist attack.”
If you’re wondering who those domestic terrorists are, the FBI has created a Domestic Terror Symbol Guide that includes both symbols and phrases they consider to be dangerous and indicative of terror groups. Shockingly, the phrase “Be ungovernable” is included, as well as, the Gadsden flag, versions of the U.S. flag and anything promoting “warrior culture.” In essence, anything that is patriotic, promotes limitations on the US government, and asserting our Constitutional freedoms.
Simultaneously, our federal government has been viciously attacking free speech. A shocking statement from John Kerry during the recent World Economic Forum exemplifies this best when he said that the First Amendment is a “major block” preventing the government from halting spread of “disinformation”.
But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence.
The entire point of the First Amendment is to ensure that the government is NEVER the arbiter of what is “true” and not true.
Kamala Harris has also shown her authoritarian hand when it comes to limiting free speech. In a 2019 interview with Jake Tapper she stated the following (with regard to President Trump):
We’re talking about a private corporation, Twitter, that has terms of use, and as far as I’m concerned and I think most people would say, including members of Congress who he has threatened, that he has lost his privileges and it should be taken down….there has to be a responsibility that is placed on these social media sites to understand their power. They are directly speaking to millions and millions of people without any level of oversight or regulation, and that has to stop.
These chilling comments, made by a potential Presidential candidate underscore a massive shift in the government’s role as it relates to our Constitutional rights. The elite class firmly believes that IT should control every aspect of your life. And now it’s taking real actions to do so, some with potentially lethal outcomes. It should be clear that the Biden-Harris administration – and the bureaucratic state – is at war with the American people.
