FPC Makes Slick Lawfare Move in Pistol Brace PI

An image of an opponent losing a game of chess.

On May 30, the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced changes to their membership structure that will potentially benefit those with braced pistols.

In essence, the FPC grandfathered into official membership all individual monetary donors who provided financial contributions of $20 or more between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023. (If you have not already done so – TODAY is the last day to become an FPC member and be part of this protected class!)

The significance of this move relates to two ongoing court cases challenging the ATF’s pistol brace ban, one of which was brought by the FPC, known as Mock v. Garland.

As we reported just a few days ago, a panel of judges in the Mock v. Garland case issued an order providing clarification on who is covered under the preliminary injunction that was issued on May 24.

The FPC move strategically uses the court’s clarification to increase the class of those who are now protected by the preliminary injunction.
