It’s been 250 years since things were boiling up between the British citizens in England and the British citizens in North America. We all learned in school about “the shot heard around the world.” And that it was the beginning of the American Revolutionary War. Technically, it was a civil war of the British.
The British regulars were marching from Boston to the Lexington and Concord area of Massachusetts to take the gunpowder from the powerhouse. Unfortunately, things have not really changed in Massachusetts. Today, the Commonwealth calls it “assault weapon” bans, “high-cap” magazine bans, licensing requirements, gun free zones, age restrictions, and background checks.
The Gun Owners Action League, GOAL, is the state’s premier pro-gun group in the Commonwealth. They are hosting a special event on April 19, 2025. They’re calling it “The Battle Continues.”
The event is being organized by Kerrie Ann Auclair. She has been busy in the 2nd Amendment community with Armed Women of America, Women for Gun Rights, and GOAL. She’s an instructor certified by the Mass State Police, NRA, USCCA, and AWA.
To me, this event is a powerful opportunity to unite and remind us of all that we cannot give up. “The Battle Continues.” We must continue fighting for our freedoms and civil rights — not just for Massachusetts, but for all states. We gather to honor 250 years of Lexington and Concord and the courage of the Sons of Liberty, whose bold actions laid the foundation for our rights. Their legacy fuels our commitment to protect those freedoms today.

There is going to be a reenactment at 5:30 in the morning. Auclair, and Toby Leary, from Cape Gun Works and Rapid Fire Radio are going to be there at the crack of dawn like other Patriots were 250 years ago. They are going to do some broadcasting during the event that morning.
Later that day, The Battle Continues dinner event at the Boxboro Regency Hotel & Conference Center in Boxboro, Mass. There’s a cocktail hour at 4 pm and dinner at 5 pm. Tickets are on sale at the GOAL website for $125. Special seating at the speaker’s tables will cost a bit more.
Featured speakers include Adam Kraut from Second Amendment Foundation, Doug Hamlin, NRA’s Executive Vice President, Dick Heller from Heller v. D.C., Jared Yanis, former Massachusetts resident & host of Guns and Gadgets YouTube channel, Lieutenant Colonel Allen West, Cam Edwards from Bearing Arms, and Toby Leary of Cape Gun Works.
Still 250 years after the Americans fought King George III, citizens are fighting with the government. Current Massachusetts governor Maura Healy has imposed chapter 135 of the Massachusetts laws. There are several new restrictions and hurdles put into place for lawful, background-check-passing citizens to be able to get a license to exercise their right to own a firearm.
On October 1, 2024, Governor Healy signed an emergency preamble to immediately have the law go into effect, then turned around and postponed the delay of the enforcing of the training requirement. Chapter 135 was supposed to go into effect on October 23, 2024.
There’s a lawsuit for 18 to 20-year-olds not to be able to possess semi-automatic rifles and shotguns. An adult from 18 to 20 years old and with a firearm identification card, could possess a semi-automatic rifle or shotgun that was not considered “large capacity” on July 31, 2024. But after August 1, 2024, they cannot possess one. I’m talking about a simple Ruger 10/22 rifle with a 10 round magazine.
There were training requirements that were changed to include a written exam, live fire, injury prevention, suicide prevention, and disengagement training. But the state’s licensing authority, the Massachusetts State Police, were not prepared for these changes. They don’t have the approved curriculum for licensing courses. The Commonwealth only accepts 26 different courses for the license to carry.
Funds raised from this event will go to lawsuits fighting the Commonwealth on their overreach. Several of the national Second Amendment organizations and associations are getting involved. With all of the overreach going on, there are several areas they need to attack.
Regardless, this is going to be a star-studded event for the Second Amendment, GOAL, and the citizens in New England. The general admission seats are $125. If you would like to sit at a special table with one of the featured speakers, it will cost you $300. Seating is limited. Dinner will be served. There will be a cash bar at the event. There is also going to be a live auction that you can participate in to help support the fight.
We need to realize that the battle for America started 250 years ago when the people went from being subjects to citizens. This really is a once in a lifetime chance to get together and rub elbows with several big names in the Second Amendment community. It is very important to remember that the battle started 250 years ago when the British were coming for the powder of arms, privately owned arms.
