A note about culture: It can’t be bought, forced, or manufactured. Culture happens organically, the confluence of personalities, environment, and just a little bit of magic. Historically in the shooting sports, we witnessed a culture of exclusion; if you weren’t part of the good ‘ole boys club, you didn’t belong. In the last decade, that has all changed. The fastest growing demographics in the shooting sports are now women and minorities. Businesses, ranges, and instructors who foster an open culture welcome to all newcomers will grow and prosper. In our experience, the Modern Warriors ranges are a fine example of the new culture paradigm.

On Wednesday, December 11, Modern Warriors, the Utah-based owners of the Nashville and Franklin shooting ranges, hosted a unique VIP event in collaboration with pistol manufacturer, Staccato, to showcase their full range of pistols.

(Staccato, previously known as STI, is an American firearm company based in Florence, Texas, that manufactures a popular line of proprietary 2011® handguns and parts for competition, duty, and self-defense. All firearms are designed, engineered, and handcrafted in Texas with 100% American materials and parts.)

The News2A team was invited to attend the event which showcased what we think is the most welcoming and well-staffed shooting range and retail environment in the area, along with some of the most high-performance firearms on the market, the renowned Staccato brand.

Staccato displayed dozens of variations of its many models available for handling and inspection with representatives on-site to answer questions. The event gave attendees the ability to test fire nearly 10 different firearms (with ammo generously provided by Modern Warriors and Staccato).

Modern Warriors has been a Staccato dealer since 2018 and is one of their larger dealers. Modern Warriors purchased the Nashville and Franklin shooting ranges in August of 2024 and has invested millions in inventory and training and will be remodeling the showroom and range during 2025. The results speak for themselves. Both ranges are premier locations that serve Nashville residents and provide a safe and fun shooting experience, an expansive inventory, and a continually expanding training curriculum.

Owner Todd Vowell shared his vision for how he intends to serve Nashville-area residents:

Modern Warriors has revolutionized the way firearms are sold in Utah and I wanted to share this concept with the community of Nashville and Franklin. We are not your typical gun shop; we believe in creating relationships with customers and through this relationship we share our love for buying and shooting some really cool firearms along with teaching gun safety and training to those who feel the need.

Stop by the Franklin or Nashville locations to shoot one of their many Staccato rental guns.
